Sunbathe on the same spot as Harry and Hermione
The latest Harry Potter film has been released and everyone is flocking to see it.
Of course the next film is being made based, on the first part of the last book ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows’ – and some if it was filmed here in Pembrokeshire!
The episode featuring Harry, Ron and Hermione’s stay in Shell Cottage was filmed amongst the sand dunes of Freshwater West Beach here in Pembrokeshire. This episode features scenes from chapter 25 of the book ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows’ , when the heroes hide away with Ron’s brother Bill and his wife Fleur at a lonely seaside cottage, to plan their raid on Gringott’s Bank vaults. It is here also that Dobbie the elf is buried.
The cottage was built specially for the film among the sand dues and is set in a stunning location right by the sea. The outside of the cottage was covered with huge shells made specially for the set.
Some of the staff at Pendeilo Leisure Park are ardent fans and they visited the film set and took the pictures you see here. They have seen all the Harry Potter films so far and read all the books. They are eagerly looking forward to the latest film.
